Plans & Prayer 2

Posted: April 20, 2011 in Uncategorized

A few weeks ago I came to a new understanding about my walk with God. It is summed up in the short phrase I wrote on this blog under “Kingdom Work”  and is; “when in a walk with God He is so far ahead putting things together all you have to do is listen and follow”. God says in (Jer. 29:11) “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” God has our best interest in mind, he wants to bless us. Too often we take things into our own hands and think we know what is best, but it only leads to difficulty. I want to listen and follow but sometimes in the best attempt self gets in the way. Scripture says in (Proverbs 16:9) “We make our plans but the Lord determines our steps.”
Also, (Proverbs 19:21) “You can make many plans but the Lord’s purpose prevails.” With this understanding I have come to the conclusion to listen and follow. His will always prevails. God will accomplish His purposes with or without me. Sometimes I am about my plan and busy fulfilling what I want to do; but, am I involved in what he is doing?

Lately I have watched in amazement just how far God is ahead of me. God’s timing is perfect! I don’t believe in luck or chance, however, providence, purpose, timing and blessing are realities worth submission. This old knowledge but new understanding makes me shutter at the thought of attempting something in my own time and strength. Don’t misunderstand, I still have plans but they are growing out of my prayers. I used to have plans and pray about them. Now I pray and out of that intimate relationship plans are birthed. I really think plans and prayer go together.

Great advise, “Pray and out of that intimate relationship plans are birthed.” Prayer is always first.
