Truning your limp into dancing, part 1

Have you ever gone through some difficulties and just didn’t understand why this was happening? Or, maybe you thought God why don’t you intervene, don’t you care? Events can sometimes puzzle us, but over time God allows us to see a different perspective. We tend to focus on the immediate while God focuses on the eternal. (2 Cor. 4:17) “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” God will come through. Three times I have experienced some of the most devastating periods in my life. Each time I did not understand. During one early period when I didn’t know what to do, or even if I could make it, a friend told me I would look back on this and thank God for it. I thought he was crazy, but it wasn’t long until I looked back and said God I thank you for what happened and protecting me from stuff I didn’t even realize. At one point I thought this was the end of me, a few months later it turned out to be one of the biggest blessings in disguise. God protected me. In CR a recovery ministry at the church I pastor, they have a saying “God never wastes a hurt”. (Rom.8:28) “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” I used to think this verse was overused, but now I understand that people are hurting and this gives them hope to hang on to. You might be in the middle of some hard stuff, but hang on God will see you through and you can look back and say. thank God! We all limp but with God’s help we have learned to make it look like dancing.
